"I am a 600 hour pilot with hearing loss in the mid ranges (where voices are heard). I also fly fly a Varga Kachina which is quite loud unless I close all the vents, which is not likely to happen here in Florida.
I’ve tried a number of ANR headsets including the Bose and Telex. I did like the Telex 30XT but found them to be heavy on a long cross-country flight.
I tried the Zulu at Sun-n-Fun this past year and was pretty impressed. They were incredibly quiet and very comfortable. The ability to plug my iPhone cord into the Zulu was another plus. After thinking about the Sun-n-Fun experience for a couple of months, I decided to order two Zulu headsets.
I only regret now that I waited so long. These headsets are without equal in my opinion. I rarely have any trouble hearing other pilots or ATC clearances and no longer have a headache or sore neck muscles after a three hour flight."
