"I am a student pilot who, after 9-11 was grounded until we moved to Washington state. This past year my husband, who has used Lightspeed headsets for several years, replaced my older model 20 with the new Zulu for my birthday.
From the moment I put it on I noticed the difference. It is much quieter and MUCH lighter in weight. So much in fact I have forgotten to take it off when we taxi into the hanger next to our home. More then once he has to remind me...the headset is still perched on my head...attached to the plane!!
Recently we did a 3 hour cross country to Oregon, and on previous trips with the older headset, I was glad to get the pressure and weight off! Not so with the Zulu.
I am anticipating my private exam soon, and you can bet I will have that trusty Zulu along. Both the quietness and lightness will eliminate a couple of distractions during the test. By the way, he uses a Lightspeed 30g (and likes it a lot)...but when we have switched seats he has been known NOT to change headsets...I wonder why?"
