"I upgraded from the 30-3-g which was great too but Zulu was a substantial improvement. My standby headset is a the old reliable David Clark.
What a difference between that and Zulu- Lighter- no screaming headaches after long flights. I too, was a little cagey for the first few flights because I could hear noises in the cockpit that I'd never heard before. I can hear the A/C kicking on an off. Occasionally I have a passenger up front with me and I can actually hear them speaking to me without them wearing a headset. I didn't realize how high I had to have the intercom volume just to hear ATC prior to using the Zulu. The other pilots use standard headsets and I have to turn the volume down after they've been flying. It's got to be saving my hearing!!
Whenever I have to use a someone's loaner headset, I'm reminded of just what I have. Ask yourself this: Is the full retail cost of a Zulu worth a life of comfort while flying and good hearing years later? I'd like to hear a rational argument against it."
Zulu. Change your mind.
